Artspace's visit to Outside In's 2023 National Exhibition "HUMANITY"

On Thursday 21st December a large group of Artspace Studio Members and Volunteers went to Hove Museum of Creativity to see Outside In's 2023 National Exhibition "HUMANITY".

This is a touring national open call exhibition for artists who face health-related or social circumstance barriers to the art world. The charity aims to make the art world a fairer and more inclusive environment for everyone. The exhibition was initially held at Sotherby's in London and Project Ability in Glasgow. Luckily for us, it's final venue is Hove Museum of Creativity.

The group agreed that the theme of HUMANITY is very apt in view of the general aims the charity itself, as well as the current state of the world.

Jane thought it was fantastic to see her local Hove Museum of Creativity host a national exhibition.

"Work was valued and made accessible by the wonderful curation" she said.

"This is inclusivity in practice!" She also observed. "Art is reflected in the wide range of society from all different walks of life that attended."

Emily was particularly drawn to Qing's Acrylic on Canvas painting "We are all Connected in this Universe". She felt that the interconnecting web-like image inspired hope and faith in local communities as well on a more global scale.

All in all a highly topical exhibition that's well worth a visit!!
