Emily, one of our longest serving studio members, who has gone on to become a stalwart Trustee, had answered the call to exhibit at The Depot Cinema and Restaurant as part of their group "Structures" exhibition.
The show has already begun and will be available to view, up until 21st September at weekends, as part of the ArtWave initiative.
ArtWave as an organisation, invites artists to exhibit artworks in public and private spaces across the Lewes District. Each show has it's own distinctive vibe.
The theme Structures invited local artists in the Lewes area to respond the many different forms they take from the landscape we inhabit, to the furniture and products used in our daily lives. It was intended to inspire a reaction to the intricate Structures of biology and nature to our own physical forms.
This spoke to Emily as some of her work explores structural juxtapositions in urban spaces. This topic is something she has explored and has informed her work since her early days at art school. As such, this made her a perfect fit for this year's ArtWave show at the Depot. As an artist Emily's work is found in many private collections across the globe and she has exhibited widely at venues across the UK.
Artspace was excited for Emily to take on this opportunity. She has become one of our longest serving members and her recovery journey has been inspirational for other group members. She has gone from being a member, to member liaison officer and finally a Trustee of Artspace. We hope you can pay the exhibition a visit on weekends until 21st September. If you can't make it you can find Emily's work on her social media platforms and personal website. Details as follows: www.emilybeza.co.uk
